Bachelor Star Gives Advice on Love

Two months after picking Tessa Horst from among 25 women on The Bachelor: Officer and a Gentleman, Andy Baldwin spoke to Florida Sports Magazine about finding his perfect match.

“The casting team spotted Tessa after she finished a half-marathon in San Francisco. The casting team for the show was smart. They went to athletic events to look for my type. Tessa is definitely an athlete. She confesses that she wasn’t sure if the whole process was going to be right for her, but she went in it on a whim, similar to me,” Baldwin recalled.

“We ended up falling in love,” Baldwin continued. “She is the type of woman I envisioned and prayed would come on the show. I proposed to her, which was quick, and I initially didn’t think that was going to happen. Now that the show is over, we’re definitely taking it slow and at our own pace. We are eager to spend time together without the cameras outside of the ‘Narnia’ of a reality show. We’re calling it our ‘Dating-gagement.’”

The 30-year old naval officer and most recent searcher on The Bachelor also shared some advice on finding true love. He stressed the importance of staying true to one’s self and taking part in events and activities to increase the likelihood of meeting possible matches.

Baldwin goes on to say, “You can’t force it to happen, but don’t be afraid to take a risk, go and push yourself. You might be pleasantly surprised by what you might find. Stay open and don’t get discouraged if you get rejected or turned down. This is a planet with billions of people. If one person says no, it’s a gift not a blow…Don’t stop until you find the right person. If you later find out your right person is the wrong person, be honest with them and yourself then start your search again. Happiness is finding laughter and love, that balanced give and take, that spark, that person who you actually want to talk with, not the person you have to talk to.”

I was accepted to the program at Ottawa U, but I don’t know if its 3 or 4 years long.

There is nothing like falling in love with a person you like. Dating a single individual you feel you are happy with and have an inkling love might be on offing is something you cannot stay away from. Amongst all the endangered species that the world has, there is none that beats a bachelor. There are many singles around, women and men, but not all of them have a chance at dating or even have odds that depict them dating any sooner. Again, not all bachelors are endangered species, since they all come in different shapes and sizes in terms of their social and financial capability. The single man who is about to be extinct is the one who gives ideas of comfort and general well being.

You cannot deny the fact that most women are ready to begin dating you because of you financial viability. You taste well and you are edible enough if you are a bachelor and endowed with something that makes you comfortable. Whether it is a good house, speed car or good clad, you are a person who makes women develop good plots of catching you. Dating is something that most women will want in a single man, since most of them are as single and desperate as you are. You cannot argue with the fact that a woman would want to live a good life, with a man who has something or has signs of having something.

It’s the nature of women; it is not that they are gold diggers or something. They were made to make the life of a man comfortable, and they are very alert to any sign of comfort.  The world today has made many people to have jobs that do not require them to go to work everyday; the internet has made it possible for many people to have their work at home. Dating also has taken a new dimension where the single people in life have decided to be dating online and finding love from people who share the same sentiments as they. However, this is not what the bachelor next door entails. He is that man, who lives next door, doesn’t leave the house except to go for grocery or when he leaves the house in smart clothes in specific occasions.

He has what many women cannot refrain from wishing they have, where he could also be good looking and has one of those attitudes that make him attractive in a masculine way. Love is just that no one hates a dating event. The bachelor is endangered from all the single women in the neighborhood who cannot leave him alone. They will visit him using all sorts of reasons; those who have children will send them there for spy missions, they will try to borrow something from him to simply engaging him in a conversation along the street. There are so many schemes they engineer to begin a relationship that will go places. The women might seem to be nagging and a bit too much, but one cannot deny it; the bachelor needs a single woman too.

Getting a bachelor’s or master’s degree may seem an insurmountable obstacle when you’re working a 40-hour week. But many Americans who have work, family and financial obligations that keep them from quitting their jobs to attend a traditional college or university full time have succeeded in finding a new way to meet their education goals and advance their careers.

Called distance learning, it’s an approach that’s taking the country — and especially the Internet — by storm. Dozens of accredited colleges and universities now offer online bachelor degree programs that require students to spend little or no time on campus. In most cases, you can learn to earn from the comfort of your own home.

The nation’s largest accredited private university, the University of Phoenix, is a good example of the trend toward distance learning. It offers online bachelor degree programs in business, technology, health care, education, and social and behavioural science. At the beginning of 2002, the last year for which figures are available on the Department of Education website, the University of Phoenix had more than 107,000 students enrolled in programs offered in classrooms and via the Internet through the school’s online campus.

While getting a degree from an accredited online university like the University of Phoenix can substantially boost your lifetime earning profile, online learning isn’t for everyone. Online learners do best when they’re highly motivated, are able to learn outside a traditional classroom environment, and have good computer skills and their own home computer.

If you fit this profile, here’s a basic checklist you’ll need to review before choosing an online degree program:

* Do you meet the academic requirements?
Like a traditional brick-and-mortar college, online universities have admission requirements that may vary according to your course of study. Certificate and online bachelor degree programs will require a high school diploma or GED certificate. Entrance requirements for graduate degrees will vary with the online degree program. At the University of Phoenix, for example, most graduate degree programs require a minimum of three years of related work experience and a bachelor’s degree with a 2.5 GPA or higher.

* Is the online university accredited?
Accreditation is a process that colleges and universities submit to voluntarily in order to receive their credentials. Because there are no national accrediting standards, you should research your school’s accreditation status and accrediting association. The U.S. Department of Education or the Commission on Recognition of Postsecondary Accreditation recognizes six regional and about 80 professional accrediting associations in the United States. The University of Phoenix, for example, is accredited by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

* Have you put your own goals first?
Take some time to research your options from the point of view of your own goals. To determine which school best fits your academic profile and educational goals, first list your criteria. Then, evaluate online degree programs based on their accreditation, features, and expenses. Once you have chosen several schools to explore further, visit their websites for more information. All online universities provide free, detailed information about their degree programs and free online access to enrollment counsellors. Ask school officials questions about such things as enrollment numbers, graduation rate, faculty qualifications, and any confusing details about the application process or academic policies.

* Can you afford it?
If you’re considering an online bachelor degree, make sure you can afford the costs for tuition, books (if any), and other admin or online fees. Remember, too, that you may not have to cover the entire cost of your online education alone. At the University of Phoenix, 59% of the University’s students receive all or part of their tuition from their employer. Even if your employer won’t spring for the cost of making you a better employee through continuing education, there are still other financial options available, including federal grant and loan programs with low interest rates.
